July public meeting

July permaculture public meeting: 

At our last business meeting, we decided to formalize some of the organizing positions within our Permaculture Kingston group.  We’d like to take this opportunity to invite all members of our community to fill these positions (see below) to help us move forward on our goals of education and relationship-building around permaculture in Kingston!  To that end, we’d like to invite all community members to join us on Thursday, July 21st after 7pm at 242 Wellington Street, Kingston for a business meeting to discuss and fill these positions.   We are aware that time is precious, so we’ve purposely limited the scope of these positions and would be open to having some of them filled by more than one person.  If you’re interested in getting more involved and would like to an opportunity to learn more about permaculture, please consider joining us.  Even if you don’t have time to lend organizing, your energy and ideas would be much appreciated at the meeting!  If you are interested in helping out, but can’t make it on the 21st, please let us know by e-mail before the meeting.

Roles:

(Please note that co-ordinators are not responsible for doing the work in their portfolio, only making sure that somebody does it!)

Chair
-Call the meetings and keep them on track
Event Co-ordinator(s)
-Make sure that events are booked every month.
-Facilitate group brainstorming for future events
Secretary
-Generate business meeting minutes
-Monitoring email account
Social Media Co-ordinator(s)
– Sending messages to our mailing list
– Posting to facebook and website
– Publish our events to other community boards
Content Co-ordinator(s)
– Post blogs
– Update resources on website.
Treasurer
– Keep track of expenses/revenues
